On Wednesday the 4th of April it was announced that the Help to Buy (Scotland) Scheme has been extended until April 2021.

Help to Buy (Scotland) is a Government run scheme that can help you buy a new build property without having to fund the whole purchase price

Since its launch in 2013, Help to Buy has helped more than 12,000 households purchase a new home, and with an additional £100 million being provided over 2019, 2020 and 2021, this will help up to 4,000 more households purchase a new home.

While Help to Buy is available to first-time buyers and existing homeowners, it is only available on new build properties up to the value of £200,000. The Scottish Government will help you purchase your new home by taking an equity stake of up to 15% of the full property price and you will be required to contribute a minimum deposit of 5%.
