Who doesn’t want the luxury of a massive kitchen with lots of space and masses of storage, however, sometimes that isn’t within our budget, but there’s nothing to say that with a little careful planning you can’t expand your Kitchen space both visually and physically and increase your storage.
Here are a few ideas to help you get started:
Having an island in the kitchen can be great especially for storage, but sometimes the cupboards can be very deep making it difficult to reach everything – so why not have the cabinets open from both sides making things easier to reach.
Another option is to have an open movable island which gives the impression of more space as there are no doors to enclose it and being movable you can position it where ever you want.
Having some open floating shelves above an island or other permanently stationed furniture not only provides more storage but doesn’t block your line of sight and is very much on trend these days.
Mirrored splashbacks can really give the appearance of space and the illusion of surface depth, as well as being easy to clean.
Interior cabinet organisers are extremely helpful in making the best use of space, trying to squeeze everything into the cabinet isn’t helpful, especially when you have to empty the cabinet to find what you are looking for at the very back.
Using contrasting colours in the kitchen can give the illusion of space, mixing light and dark tones such as a dark grey background wall with white cabinets. This can make the back wall look like it’s further back than it actually is.
These are just a few tips on how to make your kitchen look more spacious. Why not share your ideas with others.
